PROCLAMATION
April is for Arts and Culture in North Mecklenburg

WHEREAS, visual art, music, theatre, dance and other arts and culture forms enrich the lives of all Davidsonians; and

WHEREAS, Davidson has celebrated the value and importance of art and culture as ways to improve the lives of its citizens; and

WHEREAS, the Arts & Science Council has advocated for expanded arts programs and funding and created a cultural action plan addressing the creation and enhancement of arts, science and history programming in our region; and

WHEREAS, Davidson has a full slate of events scheduled for the month of April including Art on the Green, Concerts on the Green, Rocking Chairs on the Green and a Gallery Crawl; and

WHEREAS, these Davidson events are in addition to a number of events in Cornelius and Huntersville;

And, further proclaim April to be

April is for the Arts and Culture in North Mecklenburg Month

And encourage all Davidson residents to support these wonderful events and savor the abundant art and cultural opportunities our town has to offer.
